GM Investigating Amazon Music Album Art Glitch on Silverado EV and Other Models
Share
If you have noticed Amazon Music displaying different album artwork on your GM vehicle's instrument cluster and center screen, General Motors says you are not imagining it.
GM has issued Service Bulletin PIT6544 covering an Amazon Music display issue affecting certain Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC vehicles, including the 2024 through 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV.
According to GM, the Amazon Music app can show one album art image in the driver display while showing a different image on the center infotainment screen.
GM identifies the cause as a software anomaly.
The good news is that GM says no parts should be replaced and owners may continue driving their vehicles while engineering investigates the problem.
What Is the Amazon Music Display Problem?
The condition described by GM is straightforward.
An owner may notice that the album artwork displayed by Amazon Music does not match between the vehicle's instrument cluster and its center radio display.
For example, the driver display might show artwork associated with one album or track while the center screen shows something different.
GM describes the cause simply as:
Software anomaly.
The bulletin does not identify a hardware failure involving the displays, infotainment system or instrument cluster.
Which GM EVs Are Listed?
PIT6544 covers a fairly large number of GM vehicles. For EV Outdoors readers, the electric models listed in the September 2026 bulletin include:
| Brand | Model | Model Years |
|---|---|---|
| Cadillac | CELESTIQ | 2025-2026 |
| Cadillac | Escalade IQ | 2025-2026 |
| Cadillac | Escalade IQL | 2026 |
| Cadillac | LYRIQ | 2023-2026 |
| Cadillac | VISTIQ | 2026 |
| Chevrolet | Blazer EV | 2024-2026 |
| Chevrolet | Bolt | 2027 |
| Chevrolet | Equinox EV | 2025-2026 |
| Chevrolet | Silverado EV | 2024-2026 |
| GMC | Hummer EV Pickup | 2026 |
| GMC | Hummer EV SUV | 2026 |
The bulletin also covers several gasoline powered Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC models.
One model notably absent from PIT6544 is the GMC Sierra EV. The bulletin should therefore not be assumed to apply to the Sierra EV unless GM adds it in a future revision.
GM Says Not to Replace Any Parts
GM's instructions to technicians are unusually clear in this bulletin:
Do not replace any parts for this concern.
That means replacing the instrument cluster, center infotainment display, radio or another related component is not GM's prescribed solution for this specific problem.
Engineering is aware of the issue and is currently investigating the root cause.
GM says the Preliminary Information bulletin will either be updated or replaced with a Technical Service Bulletin once a determination has been made.

Does GM Have a Fix Yet?
Not yet, at least according to the September 2026 version of PIT6544.
GM says engineering is investigating the root cause.
The bulletin does not provide a software version, update schedule or estimated release date for a permanent fix.
That means owners experiencing the problem may need to wait for either an updated version of PIT6544 or a future Technical Service Bulletin containing the final correction.
Given that GM identifies the problem as a software anomaly, the eventual resolution may involve a software change, but the current bulletin does not specify how GM ultimately intends to correct it.
Is PIT6544 a Recall?
No. PIT6544 is a General Motors service bulletin categorized as Preliminary Information.
It is not identified by GM as a safety recall, Customer Satisfaction Program or other recall campaign.
The bulletin provides technicians with information about a known software issue and tells them not to replace components while GM engineering continues its investigation.
GM also cautions that a vehicle appearing on the model list does not necessarily mean that every example of that vehicle will experience the condition.
What Should Owners Do?
If you experience mismatched Amazon Music album artwork between the driver display and center infotainment screen, the issue may match the condition described in PIT6544.
There is currently no GM directed hardware repair for the problem.
If you take the vehicle to your dealer, referencing Service Bulletin PIT6544 may help the technician identify the known issue and avoid unnecessary component replacement.
Because GM is still investigating, owners should also keep their vehicle software current in case a future software update addresses the condition.
For now, GM says affected customers may continue driving their vehicles normally.
EV Outdoors Takeaway
PIT6544 is not a major mechanical or battery related issue, but it is the kind of infotainment bug that can be frustrating when you do not know whether the vehicle, the app or the display hardware is responsible.
GM has now confirmed that mismatched Amazon Music album artwork between the instrument cluster and center display can be caused by a software anomaly on certain vehicles.
For Silverado EV owners experiencing the issue, the most important takeaway is that GM does not currently recommend replacing any hardware.
Engineering is investigating, and GM plans to update the Preliminary Information bulletin or replace it with a Technical Service Bulletin once the root cause and correction have been determined.
Until then, GM says owners can continue driving normally.
